We are honored and delighted to announce that Mr. Chris Robertson who has been first joining England Squash as National Coach in 2011 before changing to his current role as Head of Player Development, will take up the Head Squash Coach position of Hong Kong Sports Institute and Hong Kong Squash effective from 1 August 2017. 

Mr. Robertson, has devoted himself to squash as a top player as well as an experienced coach for nearly thirty years. The most significant success in his playing career included reaching a career high of World No.2 in 1991 and winning the runner-up in the prestigious British Open 1992. Apart from his success as a professional player, he also made a huge contribution in his coaching career. He has been working at England Squash for six and a half years and leading the team to reach the highest level on the international stage in both team and individual, included winning the WSF World Men’s Team Championships in 2013 and the Commonwealth Games in 2014.

On his new appointment of Head Coach, Mr. Robertson said “I am very excited about the prospect of becoming Head Squash Coach in HK. I have seen the fantastic progress the programme, coaches and players have made over recent years and look forward to the opportunity to add to this and bring further success to squash in HK’’.

Mr. David Mui, MH JP, Chairman of Hong Kong Squash also expressed his great pleasure and heartfelt welcome to the new Head Coach, “With his sound coaching background, knowledgeable experiences and professionalism, Chris definitely will be a right match of a high caliber for us and I look forward to seeing him bringing a new inspiration and insight to our elite squash team so as to take our players to a new height in the world stage in a near future.”
