Hong Kong made history to the semi-finals for the first time ever after stunning the home favourites, France at a dramatic 2-1 in the quarter finals in the WSF Mens World Team Championship last night.

Facing the 3th seed France, Team Hong Kong put lots of efforts and poured out their best in front of the French crowd. Although Max Lee was defeated by the world No.1 Gregory Gaultier in straight games in the opening match, Yip Tsz Fung came back from 1-2 down to beat Mathieu Castagnet at 11-7, 7-11, 9-11, 11-2, 11-4 to set up the decider. Leo Au, the third string, kept up the pressure and performed brilliantly by winning over Gregoire Marche in four games 11-6, 7-11, 11-8, 11-2 to seal the victory for Hong Kong.

The team achieved the best-ever results since finishing in the 8th position in 2003. They will meet the first seed with three players in top five Egypt in the semifinals at 6pm (local time) today.
