Bright Smart Securities 18th Asian Junior Squash Championships 2017 Boy’s and Girl’s Teams finalists are emerged today after four exciting semi-finals held at Hong Kong Squash Centre today.

Hong Kong girls team featuring Lui Hiu Lam, Cheng Nga Ching, Chan Sin Yuk and Tang Yan Yi halted Singapore to advance to the girl’s team finals for four consecutive time. The third seed Chan Sin Yuk took the lead by winning a straight game over Chan Hui Lynn in the opening match, Lui Hiu Lam came next to settle the battle with a straight win over Sivkumar Sneha as well. The Hong Kong girls will meet the defending Champion Malaysia who dispatched Japan in another semi-final encounter at 2-1.

For the boy’s team event, India claimed the first place in the final by defeating Hong Kong at 2-0. India and Hong Kong produced two vigorous matches in front of the packed crowd. Playing at the top string, Chan Chi Ho started off with an aggressive style against Ranjit Singh however, the Indian managed to finish off in four games. The Hong Kong No.1 Lai Cheuk Nam put up a fierce see-saw match against the British Junior Open title holder, Valavan Senthilkumar before losing at 11-13, 13-11, 5-11, 11-8 and 11-5.

At the same time, Malaysia fought back from a match down to secure the last spot in the boy’s team final. Pakistan made a good start with a five-setter victory, Ong Sai Hung tied the match for Malaysia after beating the Pakistan seed one in four games and Darren Rahul playing the decider closed the battle in a 3-0 win.

The Boy’s and Girl’s team finals will be started at 12:30pm and 3pm respectively tomorrow at Hong Kong Squash Centre for free admission. Welcome you all to come and support our players!
