The main draw of HKFC PSA International Squash Open 2017 started today with having several home wins to pass through the quarter finals.
Top seed Annie Au and Joey Chan both secured the top 8 places from the all Hong Kong match up as they won over Vanessa Chu and Tong Tsz Wing in a straight and four games respectively. They will meet each other in the quarter finals.
Ho Tze Lok continued her good form to overcome the former No.1 Rachael Grinham in an intensive four games at 11-7, 12-10, 8-11 and 11-9 to reach the quarters where she will meet the second seed Nour El Tayeb.
Liu Tsz Ling is the last home favourites in the women draw to seal the victory in the round one when she defeated the qualifier Jemyca Aribado at 12-10, 11-4, 9-11 and 11-9.
In the men’s event, seed No. 4 Yip Tsz Fung eased through to the next round after beating Rex Hedrick of Australia in a straight game at 11-7, 11-8 and 11-1 to meet Omar Abdel Meguid.
Following with his teammate Yip Tsz Fung, the 7th seed Leo Au also reached the last 8 by winning over the qualifier Carlos Cornes in a straight as well to set up the quarter finals tomorrow.
