Meeting the event favourites and first seed Egypt in the semi-finals last night, the men’s team got no fear and put in a great performance in front of the supportive packed crowd.

In the opening match, Yip Tsz Fung pulled off a good battle against Marwan Elshorbagy before losing in four games to the World No.5 at 3-11, 11-8, 4-11and 7-11.

Lee Ho Yin Max followed after to play against the reigning world champion Karim Abdel Gawad, though Gawad took the lead twice, Max reacted aggressively with confidence to force a decider before narrowly losing at 9-11, 11-7, 10-12, 11-7 and 7-11.

Despite the defeat to Egypt, Hong Kong men’s team has demonstrated their best squash to the world and proved their ability is par with any world top players. Well done and Congratulation to the team for the great endeavor throughout this week!
