Organized by Squash Association of Hong Kong, China, the Second Leg of the Hong Kong Squash PSA Challenge Cup 2024 concluded successfully this afternoon at the Hong Kong Sports Institute after five consecutive days of matches.

 

The Women’s No.2 seed, Yiwen Chan from Malaysia faced the No.4 seed, Egyptian Amina El Rihany in the final. Chan Yiwen played with great determination and clinched her title with a straight-set victory by 3-0 (11-5, 11-4, 11-6) to end her two-year title drought.

 

In the Men's final, the No.5 seed and home player Matthew Lai, who had performed exceptionally well throughout the tournament, challenged the No.3 seed, Pakistani player Noor Zaman. Matthew Lai took an aggressive approach from the opening, which successfully made himself to upset his opponent in straight sets (11-8, 11-7, 11-6) and claimed his first PSA 9K event title.

 

The prize presentation ceremony was followed to held after the Men’s final, with the Honorable Duncan Chiu, Chairman of Squash Association of Hong Kong, China and Mr. Cedric Tyen, Honorary Secretary of Squash Association of Hong Kong, China together presenting the trophies to all the winners.
