The Mixed Doubles Semi-finals were staged this afternoon. Our home favorite, 6th seed Lee Ka Yi / Wong Chi Him took the opening game 11-7 to lead, and tied the game to 1-1 by the top seed, Indian Karthik Dipika Pallikal / Sandhu Harinder Pal Singh. Lee / Wong eventually lost at 1-2 (11-7, 7-11, 9-11) and obtained the Hong Kong, China’s first Asian Games Mixed Doubles bronze medal.

For the Singles event, Women’s 3/4 seed Chan Sin Yuk Simmi advanced her first Asian Games by winning over her compatriot, 2nd seed Ho Tze Lok Tomato in straight games (11-4, 11-5, 11-8), while Tomato awarded a bronze medal. And Men’s 5/8 seed Leung Chi Hin Henry claimed the third bronze medal of Team Hong Kong, China today after losing 0-3 (2-11, 1-11, 6-11) to the No.2 seed Ghosal Saurav, the Indian who already claimed four Singles medals before.

Chan Sin Yuk Simmi will face the last Silver Medallist of 2018, 3/4 seed, Malaysian Sivasangari Subramaniam for the title tomorrow. Let’s give her the biggest support from our side!
