The 9th World University Squash Championships 2016 completed today, TeamHong Kong consisting of Yip Tsz Fung, Tong Tsz Wing, Wong Chi Him, Lee Ka Yi and Yeung Ho Wai captured the silver medal in the mixed team event.


In the team final today playing against Malaysia, the men's individual champion Yip Tsz Fung win a straight over Ivan Yuen at 11-6, 11-8,11-9 again after the men’s final however, Tong Tsz Wing lost at 5-11,4-11,5-11 to the women's individual champion Low Wee Wern to set the deciding match.


Coming as a decider, Wong Chi Him put up a good fight against Sanjay Singh Chal. By leading at 2-1, Wong failed to sustain the advantage whereas the Malaysian managed better to recover at a dramatic 8-11,11-4,11-1,9-11,7-11. Hong Kong claim the first runner-up with the overall results at 1-2.

 
Team Hong Kong successfully wrapped up this year's World University Squah Championships by winning one Gold (Men's Champion), two Silvers (Women's First Runner up and Team First Runner-up) and one Bronze (Men's Second Runner-up) in the individual and team events.
