The Hong Kong Women’s team successfully upset the defending champion, Team Malaysia 2-1 to obtain the gold medal in the 21st Asian Team Squash Championships today.

One year later, Team Hong Kong was once again against Team Malaysia in the Women’s final. Chan Sin Yuk beat Rachel Mae Arnold by 3-1 (8-11, 11-5, 11-6, 11-9) to capture the first win of the team, the Team Malaysia was tied at 1-1 after Ho Tze Lok losing to the World No. 24, Aifa Binti Azman by 2-3 (5-11, 11-7, 11-9, 8-11, 10-12). Eventually, Team Hong Kong captured the championship with Lee Ka Yi eliminating her opponent, Xin Ying Yee in straight games (11-8, 11-5, 11-5) in the crucial match.

The Hong Kong Women’s team achieved with gold medal and the Men’s team claimed the bronze medal to conclude the Asian Team Championship this year.
