Bright Smart Securities Hong Kong Squash Championships 2019 was wrapped up successfully at Hong Kong Sports Institute after two weeks of competition as Leo Au and Au Wing Chi Annie claimed the Hong Kong Champion after two entertaining finals were performed.

 

The women’s final went between the defending champion Annie Au and Liu Tsz Ling. Annie Au took the first game lead when Liu came back to level the score, however, Au regained the momentum to win in four games and successfully retained her title in five successive years.

 

The defending champion Leo Au and the second seed Max Lee produced an intensive battle in the men’s final. Leo started off better to take the first game at 11-9, while Max fought back to level up. But we again saw Leo managed to keep up his performance to dominate the last two game to defend his Hong Kong Champion title in four games.

 

Yip Tsz Fung and Joey Chan claimed the second runner-up respectively. Yip Tsz Fung defeated Henry Leung in comfortable straight games whereas Joey Chan survived from the five sets thriller to beat Ho Tze Lok.

 

Prize Presentation Ceremony was followed after the men’s final. Mr. Duncan Chiu, Chairman of Hong Kong Squash gave a congratulatory speech and presented the awards along with Mr. Edmond Hui, Chief Executive Officer of Bright Smart Securities International (H.K.) Limited, Miss Ada Lau, Assistant Leisure Manager I (Sports Funding) of Leisure and Cultural Services Department, Mr. David Mui, MH, JP, President and Mr. Cedric Tyen, Honorary Secretary of Hong Kong Squash to all the winners.
