The semi between Annie Au and Joshna Chinappa was a repeat of last year however, Annie was unable to move a step closer to her second title as she was defeated by a five set encounters. Starting off the first at 11-8, Chinappa came back from the following two games to take the lead. Though Annie level up at the fourth at 11-7, the Indian stayed focus on her plan to halt the defending journey of Annie.

In the other hand, Leo put on a good show before losing to the Malaysia No.1 Nafiizwan Adnan in the men’s semis tonight. Leo fought hard and produced some impressive winning shots throughout the match but the Malaysian was stronger today to take over the win in a close straight games at 11-8,11-8 and 12-10.
