Hong Kong Women’s Team concluded their remarkable run in the WSF Women’s World Team Squash Championship 2016 as they make history by winning the bronze medal for the very first time in the biggest world championship.
In the semi-finals encounter with England, the defending champion tonight, Annie Au put up a good fight against Laura Massaro before losing 1-3 to the World No.4. Starting off well with her dominance in the first game at 11-3, both players exchanged the lead in the following sets however, the experienced Massaro managed to finish better in the crucial moments by closing the match at 3-11, 11-7, 11-6 and 11-7.
Liu Tsz Ling, the second string, followed after to play against Sarah Jane Perry. The Englishwoman just reached her career high at World No.11 maintained her recent top performance to stop Hong Kong through to the final after beating Tsz ling at a straight 4-11,4-11 and 9-11.
