The 29th Asian Junior Individual Championships 2022 (AJIC) was completed in Pattaya, Thailand today. The Hong Kong Junior Team achieved an outstanding result by winning 3 silvers and 2 bronzes in GU13, GU15, GU17 and GU19 respectively.

Three Hong Kong Junior players faced the top seeds in the final. The 2nd seed Wong Po Yui Kirstie claimed the second place after defeated by top seed Malaysian Aira Azman at 0-3 (8-11, 3-11, 2-11) in the GU19 final.

For the GU15 event, the 3rd seed Kwong Ena was beaten by the top seed Anahat Singh from India at 0-3 (7-11, 10-12, 5-11), while GU13 6th seed Lo Pui Yin Chloe also was halted by the first seed Malaysian Harleein Tan in straight games at 0-3 (3-11, 2-11, 0-11), and both clinched the 1st runner-up titles for Hong Kong.

Meanwhile, Huang Valerie Kaitlyn(U17) and Cheung Tsz Ching(U15) both awarded 2nd runner-up yesterday. Hong Kong junior players had concluded the 29th Asian Junior Individual Championships 2022 with the results of winning three silver and two bronze.
