Hong Kong Women’s team defeated Japan at 2-0 in the Asian Games team semi-finals today when the top string Annie Au and second string Joey Chan also dispatched Satomi Watanabe and Misaki Kobasyashi in four games to lead the women’s team into the final since 2010.

The women’s team will set up the final encounter with the rival India who shocked the first seed Malaysia in the semi-final.

At the same time, the men’s team will make their first ever appearance in the final after seeing off India in 2-0 victory. The individual silver medalist Max Lee beat the India No.1 Saurav Ghosal at a straight before the gold medalist Leo Au secured the place in final by winning Harinder Sandhu in four games. The men’s team will line up with Malaysia in the final tomorrow.
