The second seed, Hong Kong women’s team consisted of Annie Au, Joey Chan, Ho Tze Lok and Lee Ka Yi took the top spot of the pool after overcoming the third seed India at 2-1 to reach the semi-finals.

Joey Chan defeated Dipika Karthik to put Hong Kong ahead before Ho Tze Lok failed to keep up the momentum by losing in a tough five games. In the deciding match, Annie Au boasted a powerful 3-0 win over Joshana Chinappa to seal the victory for Hong Kong. They will meet Japan, the second of Pool B, for a place in the final.

For the men’s team, top seed Hong Kong produced a clean swept in the pool matches after beating Nepal at 3-0 to claim the first place and to compete against Malaysia or India in the semi-finals tomorrow.
