The 21st Asian Squash Individual Championships 2021 will take place in Islamabad, Pakistan on 15 – 19 December this week. Hong Kong confirmed to have eight Men’s and Women’s athletes competing with the players from other five countries / regions including the hosts Pakistan, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Kuwait and Qatar in the Championships.

The Asian Team Championships (ATC) bronze medalists Yip Tsz Fung, Henry Leung, Alex Lau and Max Lee will once again represent Hong Kong to fight for the Men’s individual title. The 5th seed Yip Tsz Fung and 6th seed Henry Leung will receive a bye in round 1. On the other hand, Alex Lau and Max Lee are seeded at 9th and 10th respectively. The former will meet Shariff Hakeem of Sri Lanka while the latter will play against Hussain Alzaatari of Kuwait.

Liu Tsz Ling, Ho Tze Lok and Tong Tsz Wing, who just claimed the silver medal in the team event will join with Chan Sin Yuk taking part in the Women’s event. The top seed Liu Tsz Ling and 4th seed Tong Tsz Wing will compete with the host players in round 1 of the top half. In the meantime, the 3rd seed Ho Tze Lok and 6th seed Chan Sin Yuk will meet two Malaysian players 7th seed Chan Yiwen and 2nd seed Rachel Arnold in the quarters if they both go through the 1st round.
