Established in 1961, it marks the 60th Anniversary of Hong Kong Squash this year. Hong Kong Squash (HKS) has been at the forefront of promoting and developing squash and earned a well-deserved reputation not only in Hong Kong but also in the International. Our senior and youth athletes have achieved remarkable results at major international competitions over the years. We will certainly stride forward in the four major aspects: promotion sports for all, promoting Hong Kong as the hub for international events, supporting the elite and striving for professionalism. 

The Hong Kong Squash 60th Anniversary Celebration cum Hong Kong Squash Awards Presentation Ceremony was successfully concluded at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre this evening. The Hon Mrs. Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor, Chief Executive of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, along with other honorable guests including Mrs. Cherry Tse Ling Kit-ching, GBS, JP, Permanent Secretary for Home Affairs, Mr. Jack Chan Jick-chi, JP, Under Secretary for Home Affairs, Dr. Karl Kwok Chi-leung, BBS, MH, Vice President of the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China, and Chairman of Major Sports Events Committee, Mr. Kenneth Fok, JP, Vice President of the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China, Mr. David Yip Wing-shing, SBS, MH, JP, Chairman of Community Sports Committee, Mr. Yeung Tak-keung, JP, Commissioner for Sports, Dr. Trisha Leahy, SBS, BBS, Chief Executive of Hong Kong Sports Institute Limited, Mr. Benjamin Hung Tak-chuen, Assistant Director (Leisure Services), Leisure & Cultural Services Department attended to celebrate the festive Diamond Jubilee of Hong Kong Squash together with elite coaches, athletes, sponsors and supporters.

Mr. Duncan Chiu, the Chairman of HKS and the Hon Mrs. Carrie Lam addressed their speech and performed the ribbon-cutting with the officiating guests in the ceremony. The Hong Kong Squash Awards Presentation was then followed. Mrs. Carrie Lam presented the “Excellence Leadership Award” to Mr. David Mui, MH JP, President of HKS, in appreciation of his tremendous  contribution in developing squash in Hong Kong over the past two decades. Joey Chan, Ho Tze Lok (collected by brother) and Lee Ka Yi (collected by mother) were recognized their remarkable achievement in winning the gold medal in 2018 Asian Games by receiving “Most Valuable Athlete Award”.

Mrs. Cherry Tse Ling Kit-ching, GBS, JP, Permanent Secretary for Home Affairs, then awarded “Outstanding Athlete Award” to Henry Leung (collected by father) for his outstanding performance in the last Asian Games, and “Distinguished Service Award” was given to the committee members and staff who have served the Association for more than 10 years. The awardees included Mr. Duncan Chiu, Chairman of HKS, Mr. John Wong, Mr. Calvin Tien, Vice-chairmen of HKS, Mr. Cedric Tyen, Honorary Secretary, Mr. Dallas Reid, General Committee member, Ms. Emily Mak, Executive Director, Ms. Maggie Fung, Senior Development Officer.
